MY FINANCIAL AID WENT THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111 :D :D :D :D :D
Guess who has been married for one year, today. :3
It's been amazing.
It's been amazing.
I just found out my FAFSA is due on Monday, and I think I'm going to cry.
These are the things I ALREADY had due Monday:
2 labs
a midterm
all the homework that I will need to do to not fail that midterm
2 reports and a presentation that is 40% of my final grade in that class
And now I have to all of my, and Ryan's, federal taxes before then, PLUS fill out the FAFSA, too. And the taxes are going to be crazy this year and we were actually considering going to a professional (for the first time ever) because of that. Guess not! I get to figure out tax law with a million deadlines looming over me. I just really hope that I don't need my parents' tax info too. I don't think I will as I'm not a dependent, but you never know with the government!
No seriously, I think I'm going to cry.
OH and the special eligibility scholarships app is due too, which I really should do because I think I'm eligible for the women-in-their-late-20s-returning-to-sch ool one.

Hey! Apparently we left my circular needle set in MD and that's why we haven't been able to find it. Ryan's mom sent it in the mail and it arrived yesterday.
...Now I have no excuses for not having a project on my needles. XD

Back to school full time! Finally! I'm taking Chem 172 (basically the higher-science beginner chem, the second in the sequence), Elementary Stat (not looking forward to this one), and Sociology 101 (not sure how I feel about this one). Chem professor is much better than last quarter. And I'm at Columbus State all day 3 days a week, which makes my life easier than the back-and-forth that I was doing last quarter.
Also sold a textbook to another student for the first time, today. :3 It's a very busy day.

I had a dream last night and now I'm tempted to draw on it for NaNoWriMo and actually write a novel this year.
... AM I CRAZY? IT'S THE 31ST OF OCTOBER.

Not doing NaNoWriMo this year. This makes me kinda sad, as I really enjoyed it last year and felt really accomplished after I was done (although I read through some of it and it was really scary -- stilted writing, yuck!). I have next to no ideas other than one really depressing story, though, and I probably should be concentrating on classes, given that this is my first year back in school. Oh well.
Ryan's doing it, through. He's writing a supernatural mystery. The idea is fun, but he's not read a mystery book since middle school, so he keeps telling me things and I keep going "huh?" (I have read mystery books more recently than middle school). I wish him luck!

I figure if I post this everywhere, it will help keep me on track! Cut from my caloriecount.com journal.
Life has finally settled down for me -- wedding is over, moving is over, school and work have started, and we're settled into the new apartment. Ryan has been back on track for awhile now and has lost 3-5lbs already. I think it's my turn!
I've already lost almost 20lbs, starting around 175lbs at my recent high and am now holding steady around 155lbs. That's going from a size 14 to a size 10-12. But I hate being between sizes (nothing ever fits right!), and 155lb is my all-time low.... I bet I can do better than that!
New goal: 145lbs, size 8.

OMG, my last post was in July. ;_;
I was thinking about politics and the upcoming election and I realized something about how I deal with these things.
I really couldn't care less about the debates. Or the campaign ads, or the candidates, or their mudslobbing, or whatever. I know I vote Democrat (and don't start yelling at me for not saying "Democratic," or I will beat you down!) and I know that no matter which candidate is running, I will vote Democrat.
This is because I've learned how politics work in this country, and I've learned that who a candidate is and what they believe is not nearly as important as their party affiliation and their personal charisma when dealing with other leaders (and a good, strong cabinet helps, too).
So I'm going to vote along party lines, and I'm not going to bother to research. Not because I'm ignornant of the issues, but because I know that I'll vote along party lines even if I DO the research, I'll just be a lot less happy about it.
I really don't understand people who watch politics like a sport.

Or rather, they will be as soon as I go to the post office.
Deidre doesn't get one. She can share Aryn's, when Aryn gets back from Minnesota. ;)
(Oh, and we signed an application and put down a deposit for an apartment!)

I've got two friends, let's call them "Clarissa" and "Brian." Some of you may know them by their real names. I know them from different places. Both are single and looking for love.
I think they would be a great match. They have similar senses of humor, similar interests (both love Stargate and Farscape, for example, but aren't into anime or most other geeky pursuits), both are really nice and decently attractive people. They're both smart but TOO smart . Both have a bit of a wild side, in ways that I think would be compatible. Both want children. Clarissa is quite a bit older ( 28 ) but she's dated guys as young as 21 and Brian is 22 and pretty mature for his age. Both are pretty sexual people.
I mentioned Brian to Clarissa and seemed interested until I mentioned that Brian was just getting out of the Army. Then she completely wrote him off. Brian is interested in Clarissa.
I'm going to seat them next to each other at my wedding. XD

I bought my first 2-piece swimsuit this weekend!

My lunch is really unappetizing today. ::pokepoke:: Maybe I will just skip the rest of this. Ugh.
I suppose that's one way to lose weight.

So we're moving officially on June 14th and 15th. It was a rather arbitrarily chosen date (with the exception of the 14th being Colette's birthday -- I think she's a little disappointed that we aren't going to be in town on that day but it was really hard to find a date that really worked) but at least we finally know.
So. If people want to see us before we move, there has been talk of a graduation party at Ryan's parents this Saturday, although I'm not sure if that fell through because it's Memorial Day weekend and so many people are out of town. Or give us a call and we'll set something up. :3
It's been a crazy couple of weeks and it's not over yet! Thanks everyone for all your support!

So apparently I'm going to OSU next year and not working like I thought! Still looking for a part-time job, but.... I'M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL! :D
Rant ahead!
Ok, so Dawes Arboretum (the site we chose for the wedding) has an outside approved caterer and we aren't allowed to use anyone else. Approved caterer is... well, not getting a good vibe. They don't DO tastings. They didn't have references on hand to give us. They add an "off-site" catering fee of 15% PLUS a delivery fee in addition to the per-person cost (which really isn't that low, given that our wedding is in the middle of buttfuck nowhere) -- and the site is only 2 miles away. Did I mention that they DON'T DO TASTINGS? They don't set up their own buffet unless we pay them $200 extra to hang around. Hmmmmm...
But we ADORE the site and have already booked it non-refundably. I'm seriously giving the caterer one more chance, and then I'm complaining to the site and seeing if they will do anything about it. They told me (before I booked, almost a year ago) that they were considering adding another approved caterer, but that has since fallen through. We could bring in our own food, but because of Ohio law we couldn't bring in alcohol. Plus... talk about a lot of work!
All I wanted was some SANDWICHES for our wedding... I don't want to pay $22 a head + all those extra fees for a sandwich bar that I've never seen, tasted, or talked to anyone who has seen or tasted it.

I just got my seal and everything! I'm now a notary for the state of Maryland. If anyone needs anything notarized, I can do it!
I feel so cool and adult. o3o

I'm really insanely proud of this. Drawn in Facebook's Graffiti app which then promptly decided that it didn't want to save. I might try to finagle something make this part of my lj layout.
I'd never used the program before, and I drew it with a mouse. :D
I just realized that if I lose enough weight that I feel comfortable in a bikini, my cosplay potential SKYROCKETS. Not that I do a whole lot of cosplaying (or... um, have ever cosplayed, other than the one time I worn brown pants and a blue shirt to Otakon and said I was "girly-Tai"), but still, the option is open and wonderful!
